Islam in a nutshell

Islam in a nutshell is:
The belief in the one true God, and submission to his commands.
Adam & Eve asked for forgiveness and were forgiven, but were sent down to Earth.. Which was the plan from the beginning, but the descent created a longing for a reward, i.e. an eventual ascent.
Humans started to forget the "only one god" rule, because He isn't visible, so they created visible "gods" & intercessors.
So God from time to time sent reminders, i.e. Messengers.
Noah was one, and Moses, Joshua, David, Yehushua/Jesus, etc.
Humans (especially the priests) corrupted the stories of these messengers, making some of them look bad.. and the original divine books were re-written, for different reasons (mostly money and power, but also to accommodate folklore and "what the audience wanted")
So for example we ended up in the Old Testament with a story of Aaron that isn't the true story, and in the New Testament with a Jesus different from the original Jesus, etc.
So, again, God sent a new messenger to correct the corrupted texts, and reiterate the same Monotheistic message that came originally with Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus and all the other messengers & prophets.

=====
It's not a "feminist" religion, and to be honest some of the western/westernized Muslims deceive themselves when they claim Islam is feminist. Maybe they think it's a "white lie", but frankly they shouldn't be ashamed of the original texts.
When both Adam & Eve sinned he was considered more responsible for the act.
We may call it Patriarchy or Biology or a natural social aspect designed into humankind.
And yes, all the messengers were male. This says something about the difference between the roles expected in Islam from men and from women.
There is no denying it, nor will I ever try to sugarcoat it.

Frankly, it's not a "liberal" religion.. so when people judge it according to a liberal criteria it looks weird to them.

Life is a temporary test for the eternal life. The Afterlife isn't "fluffy clouds & spiritual existence", but a physically enjoyable one (or a physically painful one, it depends)
